Ardmore is located literally on the border of Northern Alabama and Southern Tennessee. It also is contained within 4 counties, 2 in Alabama and 2 in Tennessee. Giles and Lincoln counties in Tennessee and Limestone and Madison counties in Alabama.

Is Ardmore in Tennessee or Alabama?

The plan was to have a direct route between Nashville, Tennessee and Deactur Alabama and pass through what was then the town of Austin. As construction grew and more folks made their home in this small community the town was renamed by the railroad to Ardmore in 1914.

Although Ardmore remains a small town community their imprint on history is not small. Ardmore is home to the Saturn 1B Rocket, at the Alabama Welcome Center, just south of the Tennessee border. The Saturn IB (alternatively known as the Uprated Saturn I) was an uprated version of the Saturn I rocket, which replaced its S-IV second stage with the much more powerful S-IVB.  It was used for early testing of the Apollo spacecraft while the larger Saturn V needed to send it to the Moon was still being developed, and for the first manned CSM Earth orbital mission .

WEATHER

Ardmore weather can range from low 20's in the winter to upper 90's in the Summer and there is always something fun to do no matter what the temperature is outside.

EVENTS

Each year Ardmore hosts the annual Renaissance Fair located downtown on Main stree. Music, local food and games pack out the town and folks comes from counties all over to try their hand at archery, fencing and Renaissance combat.  Local venders participate in showcasing their local wares and crafts.

Local Boy's and Girl's clubs host annual events to parents and children and the Ardmore Police Department puts on an annual BBQ each May.

When Fall hits and kids venture back to school the annual Ardmore Car Show is hosted in John Barnes Park and the Christmas Parade in December brings out the kid in all of us with floats, local marching bands and of course Santa Claus himself.

RESIDENTIAL

The newest residential developments in Ardmore is Smith Avenue and Ashton Lane subdivision and Mill Race Estates. Both contain newly built Ardmore homes. We currently have new and existing homes for sale in these areas. Don't hesitate to contact us anytime.

MEDICAL

The Athens Limestone Hospital in Limestone Co. is located just 20 minutes from Ardmore TN and others include the Hillside Hospital in Pulaski, TN and Lincoln Medical Center in Lincoln Co. Huntsville Hospital which is located 25 miles away.

Ardmore does have  local doctors and clinic in town for family care and needs and for long-term care there is Ardmore on Main located at 25385 Main Street.
